II PHOTO CONTEST BY “NOMEN OMEN”
RULES OF COMPETITION 1. Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN” organizes its second theme based Photo Contest, open to both professional and non-professional adult photographers, linked to the theatre performance “Chiuso per lutto” (“Closed for Mourning”), a comedy written and directed by Fabrizio Ripesi. 2. The subject for the competition is “Chiusi per lutto” (“Closed for Mourning”) 3. Entrants can submit up to three (3) photos. Only JPG uncompressed files at 300 dpi will be accepted; the maximum file size is 3 mega. 4. All images must be sent between August 1st, 2010 and November 2nd, 2010 before 6 p.m. (local time). Photos must be sent through the proper form on the Cultural Association web site “http://www.nomenomen.org”. File names should be in the following format: Progressive Photo’s Number_Lastname_Firstame.JPEG (Eg. 1_Rossi_Mario.JPEG ). 5. Filled and signed submission forms must be sent by fax. They must contain a description of images and their titles. Fax number: 06/62202091. 6. Contest fee is 10 (Ten) euros and can be paid: • by bank transfer in the favour of: Associazione Culturale Nomen Omen c/o Banca Intesa San Paolo IBAN IT28X0306905115615313400678; reason for payment “Contributo II Concorso Fotografico” • by PostePay recharge: PostePay card n° 4023 6004 6182 2852 in Danilo Zuliani’s name. • by credit card (see instruction on the web site http://www.nomenomen.org) 7. Contest fee, submission form and images submitted after time (unless extends published on the web site www.nomenomen.org ) or incorrectly submitted will not be taken into account. 8. Each entrant assumes responsibility of content of all images submitted and, by entering the competition, grants to “NOMEN OMEN” the right to publish his photographs. Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN” reserves the right to exclude photos judged, in its absolute discretion, indecent, obscene, with violent content, offensive, against common sense of decency or however not in line with the spirit of the competition. 9. The candidate assumes all responsibilities of copyright and is responsible for the issue of all the required authorizations concerning the photos, including possible releasing of the subjects of the images. 10. Considering the above mentioned, Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN” can not be held responsible for controversies about photos’ provenience or any other consequence related to images submitted. In case of damage to the detriment of Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN”, the author (or presumed one) will be cited for damage. 11. The preliminary selection of 30 finalist images will be realized under the unquestionable opinion of the Jury, composed by two professional photographers and the President of Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN”. 12. 30 finalist images will be selected on the following criteria: A. originality of thematic development; B. photographic technique skills; C. creativity; D. viewpoint. 13. The decision of Jury is final. 14. Organization reserves the right to use the submitted images to constitute the Historical Archives of the Competition, for informational and educational purposes and for any other non profit intent required by the statutory purpose of the Association. Organization will always mention the author’s name and will never modify, totally or partially, the content of images. 15. Winners will be notified via email by Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN”, but this will be just a polite contact. Official notification of winning will therefore consist exclusively in the publication on appropriate space of the web site www.nomenomen.org. 16. Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN”, pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/03 (about privacy policy), informs entrants the processing of their personal data, that will be held through information medium, will have the purpose of identifying photos’ authors when they will be exposed or published. Besides, Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN” reserves the right to use data to inform entrants about possible future initiative promoted by the Association. 17. On November 21 st, 2010, at the end of the performance “Chiuso per lutto” (“Closed for Mourning”), it will be decreed the contest winner as best photographer by the Jury and the prize-giving will take place at Teatro 7, the same theatre where the performance will run. 18. From November 16th, 2010 to November 21 st, 2010 it will take place a photographic exhibition of the 30 best images at Teatro 7 of Rome, Via Benevento 23 (http://www.teatro7.it ). 19. All the photos will compose the photo gallery on the site of Cultural Association “NOMEN OMEN”, www.nomenomen.org. 20. Prizes: One free entry for every author of the 30 selected photos that will be exposed. First prize: Monitor LCD 22’’ Inch 16:10 Wide Philips + Plaque Second prize: HD USB 2.0 External Portable HDD 3,5’’ 1 Tb Western Digital Third prize: Pen Drive USB 32 Gb Kingston 21. By entering contest participants will be deemed to have read and agreed to all rules.
